Go to bed!!!

Getting enough sleep everyday is an easy way to improve your physical and emotional state.  We all know if you get to bed late or toss and turn throughout the night, you will probably end up with dark circles under your eyes and a sour disposition.  Unfortunately, that’s not all missing out on some shut-eye will do to you.  Lack of sleep can also affect your immune system, weight, concentration, and your skin’s luminosity.

This is urgent!  Not getting enough sleep can seriously damage all areas of your social life- from your love life to your circle of friends.  This must be remedied.   Here are tips on how to catch some z’s to achieve physical and mental bliss.

  • Get yourself on a schedule.  Sync up your internal clock with your daily schedule.  Try easing yourself into an earlier bedtime by getting to bed a little earlier each night until you can get at least 8 hours of sleep before your wake-up time.
  • Once you accustom your body to your desired schedule, stick to it!  It is important to keep your routine consistent.  You will arise more refreshed and probably in a better mood too.
  • Find a way to relieve stress.  Stress will keep you awake.  It triggers chemical reactions in your body, making it more difficult for you to fall asleep.
  • Take a warm bath.  It will help you relax and make you drowsy.
  • Turn off the lights!  Making your room as dark as possible will allow your body to release melatonin, a sleep hormone.
